CASE STUDY · COMPRESS

When the real modeldoesn't exist, we create her.

Compress is a premium therapeutic garment brand. Their customers live with lipedema, postpartum recovery, 50+, oedema. Their traditional models did not. This is the story of how we closed that gap.

"Real Body, Real Power."

The concept that guided every visual decision in the project.

01 · THE PROBLEM

A brand that couldn't photograph its own customer.

Compress supports real processes of the female body: lipedema Types I, II and III, lymphedema, oedema, fluid retention, postpartum, 50+. Their customer lives in a specific body, with specific conditions, and needs to see herself represented in order to trust the product.

Traditional advertising photography could not give her that.

Professional casting offered only one body type: the thin, young model, without visible pathologies, trained to pose. Chilean and Latin American agencies did not have — and still do not have — a pool of real models with lipedema at different stages, with unretouched cellulite, with postpartum bodies, with 50+ bodies, with real curves. And even if they existed, achieving that simultaneous diversity — sizes, ages, skin tones and clinical conditions — for a single campaign was operationally impossible.

The consequence was well known within the brand: Compress had spent years communicating with bodies that were not those of its buyer. Beautiful aesthetics, disconnected message, conversion that didn't deliver. A customer with lipedema looking at a slim model and thinking "this isn't for me."

This wasn't a budget problem. It was a reality problem: what the brand needed to show simply did not exist as a casting option.

TO UNDERSTAND WHY THIS MATTERS

The conditions Compress supports, explained simply.

Before continuing, it's worth understanding which bodies we're talking about — because most people don't know, and that's precisely part of the problem.

Lipedema · the invisible disease

Lipedema is a chronic condition that primarily affects women (between 1 in 9 and 1 in 11 according to international estimates). It involves abnormal, symmetrical accumulation of fat in the legs, hips and sometimes arms, accompanied by pain, a feeling of heaviness, bruising that appears without impact, and skin that is sensitive to touch. It has no relation to weight or lifestyle — it has a hormonal and genetic component.

  • Type I · affects hips and thighs; volume and sensitivity are just beginning.
  • Type II · extends to the knees; the characteristic 'rolls' appear.
  • Type III · reaches the ankles; pain and limited mobility are evident.

Other realities of the female body

And it's not only lipedema. Compress accompanies women in other processes where the body changes and standard representation doesn't reflect them:

  • Lymphedema · build-up of lymphatic fluid, common after cancer treatments.
  • Oedema · generalised fluid retention caused by circulation, hormones, or heat.
  • Postpartum · the abdomen, hips and pelvic floor undergo a recovery measured in months, not weeks.
  • Cellulite · present in 80–90% of adult women, systematically erased from advertising.
  • Menopause and 50+ · hormonal redistribution of fat, changes in skin, posture and volume.
Millions of women live in these bodies. And almost none of them recognise themselves in the advertising that sells them products made for them. That gap is what Compress needed to close.

02 · THE SOLUTION

If the real model doesn't exist, we create her.

I designed a generative AI production system for Compress that creates persistent AI models with exactly the same morphology, age, skin tone and pathology as the brand's real consumers.

Ten models. Ten women. Ten real bodies.

Three with lipedema Types I, II and III, with their characteristic volumes and the specific texture of each stage. Two curvy with real curves. Two fitness. One 50+ with the skin and proportions of a mature woman. Two complementary profiles to add further diversity.

Each with consistent face and body — reusable in any future campaign without retraining, without searching again, without paying recurring usage rights.

For the first time, Compress could show its real customer with premium editorial art direction, referencing SKIMS, nude and black palette, international campaign-level lighting.

The gap between the woman in the piece and the woman buying the product: zero.

05 · THE RESULT

A brand that now speaks with its customer's body.

Compress now communicates with real bodies without photographing anyone.

The 10 AI models remain as a brand asset for every campaign to come. The next activation doesn't need a new project — it needs a new brief. What was once a costly one-off production is now a visual infrastructure the brand can operate.

For the first time, Compress can sustain a consistent calendar of organic and advertising content, at scale, with complete visual coherence, without depending on the impossible task of finding the casting its product truly requires.

WHY IT WORKS

The real advantages of generative AI for a serious brand.

These are the six structural changes that a well-designed generative AI system delivers — not standalone images, a system:

01

REAL DIVERSITY

You can represent exactly the morphology, age, skin tone, clinical condition and body type of your real customer. Without searching for the impossible in a casting call.

02

REAL PRODUCTION SAVINGS

No studio, no photographer, no lighting crew, no locations, no catering, no full shoot days, no editorial retouching chain, no recurring image rights.

03

REAL SPEED

What used to take six months now takes five weeks. What used to be one campaign is now a complete library that feeds every channel.

04

REUSABLE ASSET

Your AI models remain as an operational brand asset. Every future campaign starts from a visual infrastructure already built — not from scratch.

05

VOLUME WITHOUT SACRIFICING QUALITY

Hundreds of pieces in multi-format, ready for social, ecommerce, ads, web, email, retail and press — from a single production.

06

TOTAL CONTROL OVER YOUR IMAGE

You decide every face, every body, every gesture, every setting. Without negotiating with model availability, weather, schedules, or a casting that doesn't exist.

Does your brand also have a real customer it still can't show?

Tell me what you need to represent. I'll show you how to build the system that makes it possible.
